At DECEL, we develop and manufacture innovative wagon retarder systems used in railway marshalling yards around the world. Our technology helps railway operators improve safety, reduce maintenance requirements, and increase operational efficiency.

We are now looking for a motivated Workshop Technician / Mechanical Assembler who wants to grow with us and become an important part of our team.

About the role

In this role, you will work hands-on with the assembly, testing, maintenance, and continuous improvement of our products. You will be involved throughout the manufacturing process and work closely with colleagues in engineering, production, and project delivery.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Mechanical assembly of DECEL products
  • Testing and quality control
  • Service and refurbishment of components
  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving
  • Supporting installations and commissioning activities when required
  • Contributing to continuous improvements in the workshop

Who we are looking for

We believe you are practical, curious, and eager to learn. You enjoy working with your hands, take pride in delivering quality work, and are motivated by being part of a small team where everyone contributes.

We would like to see:

  • Experience from mechanical assembly, manufacturing, maintenance, or workshop environments
  • Technical understanding and interest in machinery and engineering
  • Ability to read technical drawings and instructions
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Fluent Swedish and basic English skills

Experience from hydraulics, pneumatics, railways, industrial maintenance, or welding is considered a plus, but not required.
